Hotel Overview
 The
Metropolis Hotel is a first class, 1930's landmark building, located
on Mason Street. The hotel is situated one block west of Powell
Street cable car turnaround and just one and one half blocks from
the San Francisco Center (which houses Nordstroms). The forces of
nature come alive in this 1930's colonial revivalist building.
The Metropolis, redesigned by Carta Design Group, gently balances
the forces of nature in every room. Each floor of the hotel reflects
earth, wind, fire or water. The image is carefully created with
symbolic color, design, graphics and artwork. Rich fabrics and
custom furniture complete the picture. Case goods constructed in
African Lima with stainless steel hardware, maple framed chairs
upholstered in richly colored chenille, and drum shade lighting with
turned wooden bases all contribute to an original look that is both
striking and refreshing. The hotel staff is well trained and
friendly, making your stay especially unforgettable. The hotel is
